State Licensing Exam Passage Rates

As a current or prospective student, learning about the state licensing exam success rates can assist you and your family to make informed decisions regarding your education. Click on the academic programs below to review the licensing exam success rates for Santa Rosa Junior College students who have studied in the following academic programs:

  • Associate Degree Nursing

    Our Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program prepares students to provide registered nursing care in a variety of health care settings. Upon completing the program, students will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a registered nurse.

  • Dental Assisting

    Our Dental Assisting Certificate Program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Upon completing the program, students will be eligible to take the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) Examination to become registered dental assistants. SRJC dental assisting graduates achieve 100% employment in their field, have a 161% increase in earnings, and 73% attain the regional living wage.

  • Dental Hygiene

    Our Dental Hygiene Program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Upon completing the program, students will be eligible to take the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination and the California Dental Hygiene Board Examination, and/or Central Regional or Western Regional Dental Hygiene Examination. For the class of 2021, 95% passed the written National Board Hygiene Examination the first time and 100% passed the California Dental Hygiene Board Examination the first time. SRJC dental hygiene graduates achieve 100% employment in their field, have a 176% increase in earnings, and 90% attain the regional living wage.

  • Dietetic Technician

    Our Dietetic Technician Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Upon completing the program, students will be eligible to take the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Exam to become a Dietetic Technician Registered.

    CDR Exam Passage Rate: 92.3% (2010 to 2014)

  • Emergency Medical Technician

    Our Emergency Medical Technician Program is a semester-long program designed to train individuals in basic life support emergency care. Upon completing the program, students will be eligible to take the National Registry EMT-B written exam, for certification.

    First Attempt Pass Rate: 85.3% (2013); 78.5% (spring 2014)

    Within Three Attempts Pass Rate: 89.4% (2013); 91.7% (spring 2014)

  • Fire Technology

    Our Fire Technology Program is approved by the State Fire Marshal's Office and the State Board of Fire Services as an accredited regional academy and offers several paths for those who have an interest in the fire service.

    Passage Rate: 78.63% for Fire 71, 86.15% for Fire 72, 81.25% for Fire 73, 100% for Fire 74, 87.23% for Fire 76, 100% for Fire 78, 100% for Fire 107.1, 100% for Fire 206, 100% for Fire 208, 100% for Fire 208.1 and 100% for Fire 241 (2018-2019)

  • Licensed Vocational Nursing

    Our Vocational Nursing (VN) Program is a three-semester program that prepares students to provide basic nursing care in a variety of health care settings. Upon completing the program, students will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse.

  • Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide

    Our Nursing Assistant Certificate Program is a six-unit course that prepares students to provide assistant to nurses in a variety of health care settings. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) exam to become a Certified Nurse Assitant (CNA).

    Passage Rate: 93% for Skills and 100% for Written (2012); 85% for Skills and 100% for Written (2013)

  • Paramedic

    Our Paramedic Program prepares students to provide first-aid treatment or life support care to sick or injured patients. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Exam. SRJC paramedic program has a 79% retention rate (graduating from the program) and a 95% positive placement rate (employed as paramedics).

    NREMT Exam Passing Rate: 100% (2018)

  • Pharmacy Technician

    Our Pharmacy Technician Program prepares students to be registered pharmacy technicians in a variety of pharmacy settings. Upon completion of the program, students are qualified to apply for the California State Board of Pharmacy for registration as a pharmacy technician. The Pharmacy Technician Certificate Board Exam is preferred by some California employers but is not required for licensure by the state of California.

    Passage Rate: 100% (2010-2014)

  • Radiological Technician

    Our Radiological Technician Program prepares students to provide quality patient care and perform disgonistic imagining procedures . Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) examination.

    Passage Rate: 87.5% (2015), 100% (2016), 100% (2017), 89% (2018), and 89% (2019). More information on passage rates can be found by visiting the JRCERT website.
