Which Financial Aid Application do you qualify for?
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Eligibility Requirements
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Have a valid social security number
- Have a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent such as a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- Be enrolled in an eligible program of study
- Have financial need*
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Have no defaulted loans or owe a grant repayment
- Have not participated in the sale or possession of drugs while receiving Federal Student Aid
*Your level of need is determined by the financial need formula: Student Cost of Attendance & Estimated Family Contribution or Student Aid Index (effective for 2024/2025) = Financial Need
California Dream Act Application (CADAA)
Eligibility Requirements
- Undocumented students who meet AB540 status. For more information, contact the Dream Center at (707) 521-7947.
- Attended a school in California for 3 years
- Graduating from a California High School
- Be enrolled in an eligible program of study
- Have financial need*
- Be registered with Selective Service, if you're a male between the ages of 18 and 25.
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
*Your level of need is determined by the financial need formula: Student Cost of Attendance & Estimated Family Contribution or Student Aid Index (effective for 2024/2025) = Financial Need

FAFSA Checklist
Before you begin, please take a moment to review some important deadlines for FAFSA.
FAFSA Deadlines
When should I apply? The FAFSA is available from October 1st to June 31st. To maximize your eligibility for different types of financial aid, please apply by the March 2nd priority deadline.
When will my FAFSA be processed? Applications are processed beginning in April for the new upcoming year. Please allow at least four weeks for your FAFSA application to be processed.
1. Check out these dependency questions to see if you need to provide parental information on your FAFSA.
2. Select the "Start Here" button on the FAFSA home page to begin your application FAFSA. If you need help filling out the FAFSA, please reach out to the Welcome & Connect Center at (707)-527-4410.
3. Check MyFinancialAid for FAFSA status, award information, and communications from the financial aid team. Need help with navigating the MyFinancialAid Portal? Watch this 2-minute video.
4. Submit any necessary information to determine eligibility via StudentForms and select how you would like to receive financial aid through BankMobile.

CADAA Deadlines
When should I apply? The CADAA is available from October 1st to June 30th. To qualify for a High School Entitlement Award and Competitive Cal Grant Awards, please apply by the March 2nd priority deadline.
When will my CADAA be processed? Applications are processed mid-June for students who apply from October 1st to March 2nd. If you applied after March 2nd, application processing will begin in July.

2. Submit the AB 540 Nonresident Tuition Exemption Form to Admissions & Records
