Get Cash for College - Apply for Financial Aid

Attend a Cash for College Workshop to receive help to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) and enter to win a $1000 scholarship.

The 2026-27 FAFSA and 2026-2027 CADAA are available to complete. The priority deadline to submit them is March 2, 2026.

First-year students attending full-time can get SRJC for Free!

The first two years receive $1200-$1700 per year to offset enrollment fees. REGARDLESS OF INCOME. You must apply for financial aid to qualify.

At the Cash for College Workshop you will:

  • Get assistance with completing your FAFSA or CADAA
  • Get all your financial aid questions answered
  • Learn the financial aid lingo, important deadlines, and how to navigate the financial aid process

How to prepare before the workshop:

Gathering documents, you'll need ahead of time will make filling out the FAFSA or CADAA easier. Before getting all your documents together, click here to review a series of dependency questions to find out if you need to provide your parent's financial information on your application.

Below is a list of documents that will help you complete your financial aid application. Please note: Not all documents listed below will be applicable to you. 

Students and parent(s):
  • Social Security Card or number
  • Driver's License or State ID
  • 2024 Federal Income Tax Return and W-2s
  • Any record of untaxed income such as welfare benefits, social security benefits, or child support payment
Students:
  • List of the schools you want to attend
Parents (if applicable):
  • Marital status and date of marriage, separation, divorced or was widowed
  • Date of birth
