Get Cash for College - Apply for Financial Aid

Attend a Cash for College Workshop to receive help to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) and enter to win a $1000 scholarship.

Due to a number of updates to the application and process, the 2024-25 FAFSA is currently available intermittently as part of the Department of Education's "soft launch". Since the application will be accessible for short periods of time, students seeking to apply, may need to revisit the website multiple times. The 2024-25 CADAA is open and accessible. The priority deadline to submit for the FAFSA and CADAA has been extended to May 2nd.

First year students attending full time can get SRJC for Free!

First two years of tuition free REGARDLESS OF INCOME. You must apply for financial aid to qualify.

At the Cash for College Workshop you will:

  • Get assistance with completing your FAFSA or CADAA
  • Get all your financial aid questions answered
  • Learn the financial aid lingo, important deadlines, and how to navigate the financial aid process

How to prepare before the workshop:

Gathering documents, you'll need ahead of time will make filling out the FAFSA or CADAA easier. Before getting all your documents together, click here to review a series of dependency questions to find out if you need to provide your parent's financial information on your application.

Below is a list of documents that will help you complete your financial aid application. Please note: Not all documents listed below will be applicable to you.

Students and parent(s):
  • Social Security Card or number
  • Driver's License or State ID
  • 2022 Federal Income Tax Return and W-2s
  • Any record of untaxed income such as welfare benefits, social security benefits, or child support payment
Students:
  • List of the schools you want to attend
Parents (if applicable):
  • Marital status and date of marriage, separation, divorced or was widowed
  • Date of birth

CÓMO PREPARARSE ANTES DEL TALLER:
