You must complete a loan agreement online before your loan funds can be sent to the school. The loan agreement is called a Master Promissory Note or MPN.
You will need to access the Internet. If you do not have access to the Internet, you may use the computer in the SRJC Financial Aid Office lobby to complete your MPN. Go to the Direct Loan website at http://studentloans.gov, under Manage loans, select the green "Sign In" button. Enter your information and your FSA ID. The FSA ID is a username and password combination used to sign the FAFSA. You can apply for a FSA ID at fsaid.ed.gov. If you have applied for financial aid in the past, you probably have a PIN. If you have a PIN, you can link your information to your new FSA ID by entering your PIN while registering for your FSA ID.
After you have signed in you will see your name near the top of the page. Select "Complete Loan Agreement (MPN)". You can click “View What You Need” to be sure that you have the necessary information before you begin your Promissory Note. Choose Subsidized/Unsubsidized in the center of the page. Enter your information, use drop down boxes as necessary to select correct data. Enter phone numbers with area codes, without spaces, and without dashes. Use the continue button to navigate to the next screen. You will come to a screen where you see sections c, d, e & g. Click each section to see the section, after reviewing the data, click continue. Enter your name, view the HTML version of the promissory note, scroll through the MPN and review for accuracy. If all information is correct, click submit if the information is accurate. Your promissory note is now complete. SRJC and the Department of Education will be notified automatically and you can view or download a PDF of your E-MPN.
